The problem on this Georgetown site

Wet-weather flows at the lift station were spiking well past dry-weather baseline after every significant rain. Staff knew the basin had inflow and infiltration but had no defensible data on which structures were responsible, and the rehab budget only covered a fraction of the basin.

  1. Surveyed all 34 structures in the basin to NASSCO MACP with photo documentation at each level
  2. Scoped the connecting mains so pipe condition and structure condition were rated separately
  3. Scored and ranked every structure so staff could spend the rehab budget worst-first instead of by guess
  4. Re-inspected after rehabilitation and delivered the before and after record for the compliance file

What the camera documented

  • Active infiltration through the chimney and cone on 9 of 34 structures inspected, MACP-coded and photographed
  • Deteriorated bench and channel with exposed aggregate in the oldest section of the basin
  • Two frames seated on failed mortar, taking direct surface inflow through the ring
  • Upstream mains largely sound, redirecting the budget away from pipe replacement
